Bartlett soccer mixes culture and sports
For Bartlett High School soccer hopefuls, teamwork includes a lesson in geography with as many as eight languages spoken among the 33 varsity and junior varsity participants.

Bartlet boasts athletes from Korea, Belgium, Somalia, Croatia, El Salvador, Mexico and beyond. What they have in common s a love for the game of soccer; the desire to build on a 10-4-3 mark of a year ago and to erase the memory of a double overtime loss in district tournament action.

Since then, the project exposing children to banking and shopping has grown to include a pet shop, restaurant, toy store, western store, deli, and more.
