Nov. 11 holiday may delay USPS paper deliveries

Because of the Veteran’s Day holiday on November. 11, next week’s mailed copies of The Bartlett Express may experience delayed delivery through the United States Postal Service.

Cities announce holiday closures

Area municipalities and school districts have announced how their operations will be affected by Veterans Day next week:

  • Bartlett: City offices, the library, senior center and animal shelter will be closed Nov. 11. The Bartlett Recreation Center will be open. Trash pickup will not be affected.
  • Lakeland: The city hall and senior center will be closed Nov. 11. Trash pickup will not be affected.
  • Arlington: The town hall and senior center will be open for regular hours on Nov. 11, and trash pickup will not be affected.
  • Schools: Bartlett, Arlington and Lakeland schools will be closed Nov. 11.

TDOT closes I-40 at Lakeland through Nov. 5

As part of a $28 million project expected to conclude in May 2017, the Tennessee Department of Transportation is closing westbound lanes on Interstate 40 at the Canada Road exit through today (Nov. 5) to widen the bridge.
