Teachers earn honors, acclaim
If you’re reading this, you have a long line of teachers to thank. These front-line educators across the state and the nation were spotlighted this week in celebration of National Teacher Day on Tuesday.
Locally, Bartlett Mayor A. Keith McDonald presented proclamations to Bartlett schools at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the assembly chambers of Bartlett City Hall, proclaiming May 3 as National Teacher Day in Bartlett.
BACC to host 12th golf tourney at Quail Ridge
Get your golf clubs ready for the 12th Annual BACC Golf Tournament this Friday at the Quail Ridge Golf Course, 4055 Altruria Road, Memphis. Registration and lunch will be at noon, and the tourney will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Registration is $600 per team.

Lakeland sets May 20 date for Chamber Classic
Golfers can sign up for a chance to win prizes and glory later this month at the Lakeland Chamber Classic on May 20.
The event will have a 12:30 p.m. check-in and a 1 p.m. shotgun start, and it will be at Stonebridge Golf Club, 3049 Davies Plantation Road, Lakeland. Flight winners can earn cash prizes, and there will be raffle prizes worth more than $1,300.
Entry packages are $90 per player for Level One or $100 per player for Level Two, which includes two mulligans. Both packages include use of a new 2016 club cart with GPS, a raffle ticket, pre-game driving range balls, two drink tickets and food. Food is being provided by Pink Flamingo Entertainment.
