Astronomical Society invites all on Feb. 5
Starry-eyed skygazers have an opportunity to meet with likeminded friends this week to discuss their shared interests.
The Memphis Astronomical Society will meet at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, in the Assisi Hall Science Auditorium on the campus of Christian Brothers University at East Parkway South and Central Avenue. Enter from Central opposite the Fairgrounds. The public is welcome.
Arlington greets USAF jazz group for Feb. 17 gig
The U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America’s Shades of Blue jazz ensemble will present a concert at Bolton High School’s StageLight Theatre on Feb. 17.
The performance will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Obtain tickets by email to chipmande@scsk12.org or by calling (901) 416-0004.
Lakeland plans Easter egg hunt
The City of Lakeland has announced March 19 for the annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Parks and Recreation Depart-ment. It will be 10 a.m.-noon at I.H. Park (4523 Canada Road) for children up to 10 years old.
