Sign petition and support tag for fallen officers
Memorials for fallen law enforcement officers only shine briefly, but there’s a new petition circulating that will let police supporters celebrate our fallen heroes year-round.
Melissa Bero of Bartlett is gathering signatures on a petition to have a fallen officer memorial license plate issued for vehicles in the state of Tennessee.
When she reaches 500 signatures, she plans to present it to a state congressman. As of Tuesday afternoon, the petition had 316 supporters.

Murder takes center stage for Sept. 10-13
The season-opener for the Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center — “An Evening with Jim Brickman” on Aug. 29 — is now sold out. But never fear, because BPACC has another attraction lined up just a couple of weeks later.
BPACC’s professional theater ensemble will have four performances of “A Party to Murder on Sept. 10-13. The characters come in secret on Halloween to play a murder mystery game at a rustic island cottage. Secret passageways, incriminating letters, hidden compartments, bodies in the window seat and a twenty five year old unsolved mystery twist and turn toward the unexpected and terrifying conclusion.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 10-12 and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 13.

I was a bit thrown-off by the title of the blurb advertising “A Party to Murder.” When I see the word murder and the date September 11th, entertainment is not the first thing that comes to mind.
The title of the performance is “A Party to Murder,” but we will try to be more sensitive to the wording in the future. Thanks for your comment.
