April 18 plant sale to benefit Fayette Cares
Early birds get the best opportunities this Saturday at the Fayette Cares Plant Sale in Oakland. The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. and continues to 2:30 p.m. at First Citizens National Bank (in front of Kroger).
Organizers advise: Those who shop early, purchase early gift certificates, and start digging early will come away with free plants and gifts, top choices and beautiful gardens. The event includes gardening demos, a free inflatable bounce house and a flower planting station for children. For details, go online to fayettecares.org/plantsale.
Bartlett City Beautiful slates popular plant sale April 24-26
Bartlett City Beautiful will have its annual plant sale April 24-26 at the corner of Stage Road and Whitten Road under the large tent (in front of Holliday Flowers). A variety of bedding plants, shrubs, colorful azaleas, hanging baskets and ornamental trees will be available at competitive prices.
Knowledgeable volunteers will be available to assist shoppers with planting ideas or answer questions about plants or planting needs.
This event is the commission’s largest fundraiser. All proceeds go back into the community to support the events and projects that City Beautiful does to keep Bartlett a beautiful place to live, work and shop. All sales are final.
Cash, checks and debit or credit cards are accepted. Hours will be 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.
Lakeland winery celebrates its grand opening
