Bartlett Kiwanis raising funds for Le Bonheur
In honor of Kiwanis One Day, during which all members of Kiwanis from around the world do a service project that same day, the Bartlett Club has chosen to raise money for LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
In cooperation with Fred’s Pharmacy at 6064 Stage Road, the club will be at the business on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Kiwanis will have snacks, door prizes, and fun for all participants.
SCS schedules ArtsFest April 4-5
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Shelby County Schools will host the fourth annual ArtsFest on April 4-5 at the SCS Board of Education at 160 S. Hollywood.
ArtsFest is designed to celebrate student achievement in the arts, engage the community in supporting students and teachers, and highlight the power of arts in education.
ArtsFest 2014 will feature exemplary student works of visual art and live performance in theatre, dance, band, choir, and orchestra.
Hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 4 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 5.
This annual celebration of the visual and performing arts is an event that the whole community can participate in and witness the creativity of our students on display.
South Main Mosaic accepting art proposals
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – To celebrate Memphis’ first official arts district, South Main, the Downtown Memphis Commission is launching an ambitious art program called “South Main Mosaic” that will commission up to 10 pieces of public art for temporary display.
Interested artists located within 250 miles of Memphis are encouraged to submit proposals. The overview, evaluation criteria, installation sites and online application are available at GoSouthMain. com/Mosaic. Deadline to submit an application is April 25 by 4 p.m. CST.
Fill your plate, glass at Bartlett a la Carte April 6
Bartlett a la Carte will let participants enjoy an evening of food, beverages and socializing on April 6 with a silent auction benefiting Youth Villages.
The event will be 5-7 p.m. April 6 at the Esplanade Memphis.
This culinary event, presented by Brother, is brought to the public as a joint venture between the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce and the Northeast Shelby Rotary.
Tickets are $45 per individual, $80 per couple, or $350 for a Super Saver Pack of 10 tickets. Ticket price includes open bar (wine and beer) and food/beverage tastings from all vendors. Call (901) 372-9457 for tickets or buy them at the event.

Donations for the Silent Auction will be accepted through April 3. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Youth Villages.
