Ferguson, a sophomore right-hander at Northwest Mississippi Community College, is listed at No. 198.

A 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Arlington, Ferguson went 7-2 with a 3.65 ERA and a pair of complete games in 13 appearances last season for the Rangers. In 55.2 innings of work, he struck out 36 against 25 walks while opponents hit .273 against him. He allowed two earned runs or less in six of 10 starts on his way to the Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges (MACJC) Second Team All-State honors.

Ferguson is a University of Memphis signee and chose the Tigers over interest from Alabama, Delta State, Mississippi State, Murray State, Ole Miss, Samford, South Alabama and Southern Miss.

Northwest had four players selected in last year’s MLB First-Year Player Draft and is expected to have several more prospects in the mix again this year.
