
Karson Holmes, valedictorian for the Arlington High School senior class of 2014, is the youngest of four children and has lived in Bartlett his entire life.
He had the opportunity to attend the following schools: Oak Elementary, Bon Lin Elementary, Bon Lin Middle, and Arlington High School. During middle school he was a member of the Bartlett Mayor’s Youth Council. His hard work has paid off and he is proud to represent the Arlington High School Class of 2014 with a 4.56 grade point average (GPA).
While at AHS, Holmes took 11 AP classes and was a member of the Science National Honor Society, English National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society. He is one of the co-founders of Arlington’s Young Republican Club.
He played basketball for four years and football for two years, ending his senior year on teams that were football district champs and basketball state semi-finalists.

Born of Chinese descent, Corey Lin is the salutatorian of Arlington High School’s graduating class of 2014. His parents, Ying and Li, immigrated to the U.S. as teenagers. He has one older sister, Angel.
In the fall, he will attend Vanderbilt University and hopes to study neuroscience.
He has a passion for learning new languages; he can currently speak three but wants to learn more in the future. In addition, he enjoys traveling, be it around the U.S. or internationally. In his free time, Lin likes to watch sports, play video games, read, run, play basketball, and play the oboe.
