On November 1, Senior Executive Director, Donald Blunt presented Arlington High School Senior Christopher Kidwell with a “2015 Young Adult Volunteer of the Year Award” on behalf of Rainbow Health & Rehab of Memphis and Covenant Dove, LLC. Christopher began volunteering at Rainbow Health & Rehab of Memphis when he was in eighth grade at Bon Lin Middle School. He had visited their organization with a Junior National Beta Club volunteer group for a Saturday volunteer day in October of 2011.

Christopher continued to volunteer at Rainbow Rehab each Saturday, and he has completed 375 hours of continuous volunteer service to elderly residents over the past four years. He helps the activity director for three hours on Saturdays conducting various activities for the elderly residents. Some activities Christopher has assisted with include the annual Kentucky Derby Ice Cream Party, miscellaneous vocal and musical entertainment events, and weekly bingo.

During his presentation of the award, Mr. Blunt indicated that “the impact Christopher has made on the lives of the elderly residents at Rainbow Rehab is immeasurable.” He gave Christopher a “heartfelt thank you” and commended him for his recognition of the importance of working with the elderly.
