People who have always dreamed about finishing what they started can “Reconnect Today with Southwest!” Tennessee Reconnect is the State of Tennessee’s initiative to help adults enter higher education so that they may gain new skills, advance in the workplace, and fulfill lifelong dreams of completing a degree or credential.
Thousands of people started college, but for various reasons never completed their degree. Southwest Tennessee Community College has designated Aug. 8 as a special campus day for meeting with faculty and staff about what is needed to help adult students “Reconnect Today with Southwest” beginning in the fall 2017 semester. The meet-and-greet information session will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the Macon Cove campus in the Bornblum Library.
According to Jacqueline Faulkner, vice president of student affairs, “This campus day represents a unique opportunity to allow students to get one step closer to fulfilling their goals of college attainment. We believe that education is the key to creating opportunity and changing the lives of students and their families. We are thrilled to be able to help students remove the financial barrier to completion of their degrees through Tennessee Reconnect funding.”
