A company that quietly did a generous act of kindness deserves a shoutout, say Barlett Police officers.
About two weeks ago, officers responded to reports of an elderly woman who had fallen in her home and was yelling for help. They found a woman in her 80s who had apparently fainted because of the heat.
Her air conditioning was inoperable, and the temperature in the home was dangerously high. When officers called friends at Choates Air Conditioning, Heating and Plumbing in Cordova, the company replaced the woman’s a/c system without cost, with her permission.
A description of the incident from Bartlett Police noted, “This act of kindness from our friends at Choates and the assisting officers was astounding to witness. Their actions should not only strengthen the community but should also provide comfort to the public, knowing how dedicated our citizens, officers, and local businesses are to one another.”
