Christmas gift program helps Memphis kids

SANTA (1 of 1)

Santa inspired delighted smiles and at least one skeptical look among attendees at last weekend’s Angel Tree Party for 40 children from the Bent Tree Apartments in Memphis.

Faith Baptist Church of Bartlett, in conjunction with Hope Fellowship, hosted the charitable event, which included a story time, arts and crafts, game time, pictures with Santa, slices of pizza, and delivery of Christmas gifts to the attending children.

The ministry of Hope Fellowship is led by Pastor James Williams. He and his wife, Sandra, engage urban Memphis through ministry at the multi-housing complex, Bent Tree Apartments.

They lead efforts such as after-school tutoring, meeting basic needs and leading church services on Sundays. For more information, go online to hopefellowshipbaptistchurch.weebly.com/index.html.
