The Bartlett Police Department (BPD) reported the following incidents for Oct. 13-19.

Oct. 13
- Davieshire Drive: Responded at 8:21 a.m. Oct. 13 to Davieshire Drive regarding an attempted theft from motor vehicle. The victim said that someone broke the passenger side window of the victim’s car sometime between 11 p.m. Oct. 12 and 8 a.m. Oct. 13. Nothing was reported stolen, although someone had moved and rifled through a purse and a backpack in the vehicle.
- U.S. 70: Responded Oct. 13 to a victim who said someone stolen valuables from his unlocked vehicle between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Oct. 10 when it was parked in the Kroger parking lot (7615 U.S. 70). Items stolen included $1,200 cash from a First Tennessee money back, his passport, a Bus Solutions Bus Pricing Guide Blue Book ($350) and a First Citizens Bank checkbook.
Oct. 14
- Shadowlawn Road: Responded at 8:13 a.m. Oct. 14 to the Athletic Pavilion of Shadowlawn Park regarding a non-residential burglary. The complainant said someone broke in and stole eight Gatorade coolers and various candies between 4 p.m. Sept. 28 and 7:45 a.m. Oct. 14. The suspect entered by prying the lock mechanisms on two separate metal commercial doors.
- Stage Road: Responded to a victim’s complaint on Oct. 14 of a 26-inch Bianchi Milano bicycle ($700) stolen from outside the Bartlett Library (5884 Stage Road). The theft occurred between 3:40 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. Oct. 11.
Oct. 15
- North Sungate Drive: Responded at 5:16 a.m. Oct. 15 to North Sungate Drive regarding a vandalism complaint. The victim said his ex-wife received a text from an unknown number around 4:30 a.m. that day, stating that they had “taken care of” the victim’s truck and that he was messing with the wrong family. The victim said he was involved in a physical altercation with a suspect in Memphis a few days previously. The responding officer observed that someone had punctured all four tires on the victim’s truck and keyed profanity onto the hood.
Oct. 16
- Lord Dunmore Cove: Responded at 1:09 a.m. Oct. 16 to Lord Dunmore Cove regarding a prowler. The complainant said her boyfriend saw an unknown white male inside her unlocked Honda. The suspect was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 190 lbs. Nothing was stolen from the car.
- U.S. 64: Responded on Oct. 16 to a complainant who said someone stole the Tennessee license plate from his vehicle while it was parked at Lowe’s (8300 U.S. 64) between 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Oct. 14.
- U.S. 70: Responded at 7:31 a.m. Oct. 16 to Playcare Learning Center (6634 U.S. 70) regarding a burglary complaint. The owner/director said someone entered through an unsecured side door and stole two area rugs ($20) from a classroom. The first rug had the alphabet stitched on it, and the other had roads and cars stitched on it. Someone also removed pillows from the facility’s cubbies, threw them on the floor and littered the room with a partially consumed bottle of Sunny D juice.
- Shira Drive: Responded at 9:15 a.m. Oct. 16 to Shira regarding the theft of air conditioning units. The builder on site said someone stole two five-ton gray Amana units ($1,500 each) from homes under construction.
