In a Friday morning fire in southeast Shelby County, three family members heard their fire alarm blaring and fled to safety without significant injury.
On a second search of the home, firefighters rescued the family’s small dog from beneath a bed.
The call came in just before 2:30 a.m., and multiple engine companies from Germantown, Memphis and Shelby County raced to the 4300 block of Winding Hollow Way, where a house was on fire near the back of the second floor.
First responders fromthe Shelby County Fire Department began arriving just six minutes after dispatch. A group of nearly two dozen firefighters knocked the blaze back within 25 minutes, and no firefighters were injured during this operation.
