The American Red Cross has launched its Blood Donor App, which puts the power to save lives in people’s hands. The free new smartphone application lets users schedule donations, track total donations, earn rewards and invite friends to join them.
Features include a chance for donors to form teams, track their cumulative impact and view leaderboard standings. The Blood Donor App can be found in app stores by searching for American Red Cross, visiting redcrossblood.org/bloodapp, or texting BLOODAPP to 90999 for a direct link to download.
Eligible blood donors do not need a smartphone to schedule an appointment to give blood. Appointments can always be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by visiting redcrossblood.org.
