Bartlett Police reports for Aug. 25-31, 2014

Bartlett police badgeThe Bartlett Police Department reported the following incidents for Aug. 25-31.

Aug. 25

  • Will Fall Lane: Responded around 6:47 a.m. Aug. 25 to Will Fall Lane regarding a theft. The victim said someone stole his wallet out of his truck. The wallet contained his Tennessee driver’s license, Tennessee handgun permit, insurance cards, and SunTrust debit card. His card had not been used at the time of the report.
  • Orion Cove: Responded at 11:11 a.m. Aug. 25 to Orion Cove regarding vandalism. The victim said someone vandalized her Hyundai at an unknown date and time, scratching obscene words on the vehicle.
  • Elpine Gray: Responded at 6:07 p.m. Aug. 26 to Elpine Gray regarding a theft complaint. The victim said he and his daughter left for work at 7:15 a.m. When he returned at 4:45 p.m., he found multiple items had been stolen from his bedroom, including a Samsung tablet ($200), three diamond rings ($7,000), two 18K gold necklaces ($3,100), two 18K gold bracelets ($1,200), a silver Fossil watch ($175), a white Guess watch ($85) and a phone charger ($10). The victim said there appeared to be no forced entry.

Aug. 26

  • Luther: Responded at 9:44 p.m. Aug. 26 to Luther regarding a mailbox vandalism complaint. The victim said she was at home when she heard a loud noise and looked outside, spotting three unknown whitemale juveniles walking south on the street. She saw her trash can was knocked over and her mailbox knocked off its post ($50). She followed the juveniles in her vehicle until the boys jumped over a fence and she lost contact. The victim advised she would prosecute if the suspects were identified.

Aug. 27

  • Virgil: Responded around 10:22 a.m. Aug. 27 to Virgil regarding a theft complaint. The complainant said he went to bed around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 26. When he woke, four items had been stolen from his shed: An Echo weed trimmer, a McCulla weed trimmer, a Husqvarna backpack blower, and a Homelite 18-inch chainsaw.

Aug. 28

  • Frankie Lane: Responded at 9:54 a.m. Aug. 28 to Frankie Lane regarding a residential burglary. The victim said he left home around 8:40 a.m. that day to take his children to school. Around 9:15 a.m., a friend called to advise that his garage door was open, which was unusual. The victim returned home and found that someone had pried open his garage door, breaking one of the rollers and the cable that opens the door ($1,000). The suspect(s) then entered the home through the unlocked entry door inside the garage. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a gray and green Xbox 360 ($299) and tried to steal either another Xbox or a flat screen TV; the TV had been shifted on its stand.

Aug. 29

  • Luther: Responded around 1:59 p.m. on Aug. 29 to Luther regarding a theft complaint. The victim said his 26-inch Magna mountain bike ($160) was stolen from his residence between midnight and 7 a.m. that morning.

Aug. 31

  • Court Street: Responded at 1:47 p.m. Aug. 31 to Court Street regarding the theft of lawn equipment. The victim said he last used the equipment on Aug. 28. On Aug. 29, his wife saw that the shed door in the rear of their property was open. Later that day, the victim noticed that his red and black Echo blower, orange Husqvarna chainsaw, and his red and black Echo weed trimmer were missing from his open attached carport. The estimated total value of stolen item is $1,244.
