Bartlett Police reports for Aug. 4-10, 2014

Bartlett Police Department badgeThe Bartlett Police Department reported the following incidents for Aug. 4-10. The department has discontinued providing mugshots of arrested suspects as of this week.

Editor’s note: All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and values are estimated for stolen/damaged items. These are brief summaries of more detailed BPD reports.

Aug. 4

  • Broadway Street: Responded at 9:08 a.m. Aug. 4 to Broadway regarding a non-residential burglary. The victim said someone stole a Stihl blower/vacuum ($150) and Stihl hedge trimmers ($150) from an unlocked storage shed on her property.
  • Terry Franklin Drive: Responded on Aug. 4 to Terry Franklin Drive regarding a theft. The complainant said his Tennessee handicap license plate was missing from his truck. He last saw it on his truck the previous day when he parked in front of his house.
  • Crested Pine Cove: Responded around 12:45 p.m. on Aug. 4 to Crested Pine Cove regarding property damage. The property manager said someone was repeatedly kicking out fence boards on the residence’s back fence. The responding officer saw that two were broken out.
  • Lord Dunmore Cove: Responded at 1:51 a.m. Aug. 4 to Lord Dunmore Cove regarding a theft from an auto. The victim said someone stole her pink Sony digital camera from her unlocked vehicle between 10 p.m. Aug. 3 and 8 a.m. Aug. 4.

Aug. 6

  • Loosahatchie Cove: Responded around 6:57 a.m. on Aug. 6 to Loosahatchie Cove regarding vandalism of a vehicle. The victim said someone broke the driver’s side window ($200) and stabbed the sidewall of three tires ($600).
  • Fiske Road: Responded around 8:09 a.m. Aug. 6 to Fiske Road regarding an auto burglary. The victim said someone entered her unlocked vehicle the previous night and stole her fake leather wallet containing her Tennessee’s driver’s license, Regions debit card, EBT card, pictures, car insurance card, old gift cards, business cards, bank account number and $145 cash.
  • Yale Road: Responded around 10:31 a.m. Aug. 6 to Yale Road regarding a shed burglary. The victim said he noticed a fence board near the gate was damaged, the black rubber Masterlock on the gate was missing, and his purple Schwinn mountain bike ($200) was missing from the backyard shed.

Aug. 7

  • Broadway Street: Responded around 12:18 p.m. Aug. 7 to Broadway Street regarding a burglary. The victim said someone removed a padlock and forcibly entered his storage shed, stealing an Echo weed eater ($200), Stihl weed trimmer ($300) and a Stihl pole saw ($400). The responding officer observed that the door hasp had a cut mark where the lock was.

Aug. 8

  • Daybreak Drive: Responded at 6:38 a.m. Aug. 8 to Daybreak Drive regarding vandalism. The victim said someone threw a rock through an upstairs bedroom window between 10 p.m. Aug. 7 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 8. She and her husband heard a noise around 1:30 a.m. and believe it could have been the window shattering. The victim speculated that the suspect could be her daughter’s ex-boyfriend.
  • Wendy Street: Responded around 7:42 a.m. on Aug. 8 to Wendy Street regarding a storage building burglary. The victim said he noticed footprints leading across the lawn up to his storage building around 7 a.m. that morning. He discovered that someone had entered the unlocked building and stolen his gray Troy-Bilt edger ($200) and his gray Trimmer Plus edger attachment ($70). The footprints continued across the yard to a spot where the suspect apparently jumped the fence.
