A three-car collision at Yale Road and Memphis-Arlington Road in Bartlett killed one teen and injured another on Monday afternoon.
Around 4:20 p.m., the driver of a Lincoln Town Car failed to yield the right-of-way to a Ford F150, striking the bed of the pickup truck and causing it to cross the median into oncoming traffic. It struck a third car before rolling onto its passenger side.
The passenger in the truck, 16-year-old Briana J. Jones of Houston, Texas (formerly of Cordova), was transported to Regional One Health Center, where she was pronounced dead from the injuries sustained in the crash.
The 16-year-old driver of the F-150 and the 72-year-old driver of the Lincoln Town Car were not injured. The 17-year-old driver of the third car was treated and released at Methodist Hospital.
No charges have been filed at this time, and the crash is still under investigation.
