NOTICE OF INTENT TO EXCEED CERTIFIED TAX RECAPTURE RATE
The City of Bartlett will conduct a public hearing on June 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., on the city’s intent to exceed the certified property tax recapture rate. The recapture rate recoups the (to date) unutilized portion of an appeals allowance included in the 2013 certified tax rate, pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. 67-5-1701. This public hearing will be held at Bartlett City Hall 6400 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN 38134. The certified recapture rate as defined by T.C.A. 67-5-1701 is $1.616 per $100 of assessed valuation as of May 9, 2014. The City’s proposed FY 2014-2015 budget, if adopted, will require a proposed tax levy of $1.62 per $100 of assessed valuation. We anticipate that when the Shelby County Board of Equalization completes its hearings that the appeals allowance will be exceeded.

Pursuant to the requirements of the State of Tennessee and Ordinances of the City of Bartlett, Tennessee, the following information is published and made known to all interested persons: The Bartlett Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Bartlett City Hall Assembly Chamber to consider the following Ordinance:
Ordinance 14-06, an ordinance to adopt the 2014-2015 General Purpose School Budget.
Any citizen who may wish to appear and testify either for or against this Ordinance will be heard.
