The Bartlett Police Department reported the following incidents for May 19-25.
May 19
- Silverwood: Responded at 1:23 p.m. on May 19 to Silverwood regarding a burglary complaint. The house is under construction, and someone entered through an unlocked door to steal a Whirlpool dishwasher valued at $350. n Court: Responded around 5:53 p.m. to Court regarding a burglary complaint. The victim said a vacant house he owns had been burglarized. A neighbor told the owner that a back window and back door to the residence had been broken. No items were taken.
- Woodlawn: Responded around 8:20 p.m. on May 19 to a public playground at 5745 Woodlawn. The juvenile victim said she left her purse and Nexus tablet lying on the slide and walked away for about 10 minutes. The tablet was gone when she returned. A juvenile witness reported seeing a male suspect pick up the tablet, smash it against a pole several times, throw it against a fence, and then throwthe broken pices into the parking lot and onto the roof of a building. The witness described the suspect as a short heavyset male with dental braces and a flag tattoo on his right arm. The victim identified the suspect based on the description. The responding officer found the suspect behind the McDonald’s at 6048 Stage Road, and he admitted breaking the tablet.
May 20
- Stage Road: Responded around 10:38 a.m. on May 20 to the 5800 block of Stage Road regarding a vandalism report. The victim said someone damaged his back driver’s side door between 6 p.m. May 19 and 10 a.m. May 20. The total value of damages is approximately $2,000. There are no suspects at this time.
- U.S. 64: Responded at 5:28 p.m. on May 20 to the Longhorn Restaurant on U.S. 64 regarding an auto burglary complaint. The victim said someone pried her vehicle’s driver’s side door open sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. and took a Valcom 1,500-watt amplifier ($100), two 12-inch Valor speakers ($500) and a custom speaker box($75). The victim said she parked and secured the vehicle before entering the Longhorn restaurant.
- Jonathan Cove: Responded around 4:30 p.m. May 20 to Jonathan Cove regarding a reported theft from an unlocked motor vehicle in front of the home. The victim said her daughter’s Michael Korrs sunglasses ($100) and a vehicle emergency kit ($50) were stolen from her vehicle between approximately 7 p.m. May 19 and 6:30 a.m. May 20.
May 21
- U.S. 64: Responded around 9:55 p.m. on May 21 to an armed robbery report at Jet’s Pizza, 7780 Highway 64. The victim said a man entered the store and pointed at him with what appeared to be a pistol wrapped in a sock. The man gestured the gun toward the register and said to give him all the money. While the officer was en route, dispatch advised the suspect was a black man wearing black pants and a black hoodie with a blue bandanna covering his face. He was last seen traveling east from the store. The matter is under investigation.
May 22
- Lee Ridge Drive: Responded around 10:28 a.m. on May 22 to Lee Ridge Drive regarding a report of aggravated burglary. The victim said he left around 9:20 a.m. for an errand and returned around 9:52 a.m. After opening his garage, he noticed his backdoor was open, a TV had been moved, a lamp tipped over and his safe (which had a key already in it) was open. No items were reported missing.
- Baudette: Responded at 3:04 p.m. on May 22 to Baudette regarding the reported theft of a trailer. The victim said someont took the black trailer ($550) from her driveway sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. that day. No other information was available.
- Camelia Lane: Responded at 5:54 p.m. May 22 to Camelia Lane regarding a report of aggravated burglary. The fictim said she locked her house and left at 8:15 a.m. for an appointment. When her children returned from school at 4:30 p.m., the front door and garage door were open, and they went inside to call their mother. She told them to go to the neighbor’s house, and she came home and called the police. Responding officers found a broken window in the kitchen where one or more suspects are believed to have entered. A desk in the den and dresser drawers in three bedrooms were opened and rummaged through. The victim reported that a gold necklace ($300) was the only item missing.
