This group is an independent hospital industry watchdog whose Board Members include FedEx Corporation and Memphis Business Group on Health.

Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett is one of just four hospitals in the Memphis area to receive an “A” grade.

The Hospital Safety Score was calculated under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety and is administered by The Leapfrog Group.

The Hospital Safety Score is designed to provide consumers with information they need when making decisions about a hospital stay.

“Our physicians and our staff take a great amount of pride in providing safe patient care, quality outcomes and excellent experiences,” said Jeremy Clark, Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett chief executive officer. “We’re proud to be nationally recognized for our efforts to provide patients with the safety they deserve.”

The Hospital Safety Score was determined by The Leapfrog Group’s nine-member Blue Ribbon Expert Panel. The panel uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single score representing a hospital’s overall capacity to keep patients safe from preventable harm. More than 2,500 hospitals have been assigned scores, with less than a third receiving an “A” grade.
