Elite Wrestling Academy and its wrestlers recently put on a strong performance at back-to-back tournaments in southern Illinois.

The team took 33 wrestlers (ages 5-14) to Illinois to wrestle in the Anna-Jonesboro “On the Prowl” and Carbondale “Dog Fight” tournaments.

This was one of the most successful weekends Elite has ever seen, with the club posting multiple champions and a team championship.

On Saturday during the Anna-Jonesboro “On the Prowl” Tournament, the team started hot and shocked the teams from Illinois by recording 24 wins with only two losses in the first round of wrestling, with 15 of the first 24 wins by pin. The team finished the tournament with 18 Elite Wrestlers in the finals, with 12 first-place winners, six second-places, four third-places, and eight fourth-places.

On Sunday during the Carbondale “Dog Fight” Tournament, Elite continued their winning streak over tough competition.
In the finals, there were huge wins from Carson Pennington, KJ Strong, Dylan Cockman, Austin Brooks, Jason Donnelly, Micah Douglass, Jacob Roaten, Joey Walls, Andrew Artiles, Tyler Longo, Al Wooten, Reed Cannon, Montana Doty, and Connor Goslar.

Out of 42 teams entered in the tournament, Elite Wrestling Academy won the overall team title.

The team finished the day with six first-place champions, five second-places, four third-places, one fourth-place, and six fifth places.
