Lisa Elizabeth (Greene) Huffstetler

Lisa Elizabeth (Greene) Huffstetler, 48, of Bartlett passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Greene, and her father, Wendell Ray Greene. Mrs. Huffstetler is survived by her loving husband, Chris Huffstetler; her sons, Charles Wendell “C.W.” Huffstetler of Memphis, Jackson Huffstetler of Bartlett, and Benjamin Huffstetler, also of Bartlett; her brothers, Terry Greene and his wife Debra of San Bernardino, Calif., and Chris Greene of Memphis; her mother, Maxine Greene, also of Memphis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Huffstetler was a professor of political science at the University of Memphis since 2003. She received her bachelor of arts in 1991 from the University of California, Riverside, and her master of arts in 1997 from the University of South Carolina.

She was active in missionary ministries in Mexico when she lived in California and in Bartlett was a member of New Hope Christian Church. She also participated in the Boy Scouts of America with her boys.

Mrs. Huffstetler was a Foundation for Defense of Democracy Fellow and the Coordinator for University of Memphis Tennessee legislature intern program. She was also a member of the Tennessee National Guard Auxiliary Association.

The family received guests and relatives from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at New Hope Christian Church, 3300 Kirby Whitten Road, Bartlett. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Church Legacy Fund.
