Home fire stopped in 5 minutes

image001Firefighters contained a fire in just over five minutes on Feb. 17, saving a home in the 6000 block of Almond Creek Cove in the Waverly Farms subdivision.Just after 9 .m., dispatchers with the Shelby County Fire Department started three engine companies from the Shelby County Fire Department and one from Millington Fire to the blaze.

The first firefighters on the scene reported flames near the fireplace on the back of the house. A pre-connected attack fire hose was deployed from the rescue pumper, and firefighters entered through the front door after it was breached.

There were no injuries to anyone during this fire.

The office of the Shelby County Fire Marshal is investigating the source and the cause of this fire. It may be of electrical origin, but the investigation is currently ongoing.
