The Bartlett Police Department reported the following activities for Feb. 3-9, 2014:
Feb. 3
♦ Officers responded to a Serra Chevy on the 7800 block of Highway 64 regarding an auto burglary. Officers spoke to the complainant who stated that an unknown person vandalized and removed the wheels and tires from a new vehicle for sale between Feb. 1 and Feb. 2. He observed a black Silverado “High Country” truck (new vehicle) parked on the dealership back lot to have the passenger side window broken out and the 20-inch chrome wheels and tires to be removed.
♦ Officers were called to police headquarters in regards to a theft report. A complainant walked in to report a theft of a handicap hang tag from her car. The complainant stated that sometime between Jan. 5-19, someone stole a handicap hang tag that was hanging on the rear view mirror of her vehicle that was parked and unlocked in her driveway on Altruria.
Feb. 4
♦ Officers were dispatched to headquarters regarding an auto burglary. Officers spoke with the victim/complainant who stated that while she was checking her kids into Oak Elementary at 3573 Oak Road, someone stole her purse from her Ford F-150 extended cab truck. She believes the doors were unlocked because she was in a hurry.
Feb. 6
♦ Officers responded to Jenny Lane in regards to a burglary complaint. Officers spoke with a victim/complainant who stated that someone broke into his shed and took several items. The victim stated he observed the lock on his fence gate to be broken, as well as the lock on the shed door. Once inside the shed, the victim stated the unknown suspect took miscellaneous tools.
Feb. 7
♦ Officers responded to N. Oakmoor Circle regarding vandalism. Officers spoke with victim/complainant who stated that unknown persons kicked out one of her fence boards. She advised she observed a back fence board to be kicked out and stated that this has been an ongoing problem.
Feb. 8
♦ Officers responded to Golden Valley regarding vandalism. The victim/complainant stated that between Feb. 1-8 someone attempted to cut the lock off of his storage shed in his residence backyard. No entry was made to the shed and value of the lock is $25.
♦ Officers responded to Trail Creek Lane in regard to an Aggravated Burglary. The complainant stated his ATV was stolen out of his closed garage. Officers spoke with the victim who stated he is having his house built at Trail Creek Lane and has been away since Feb. 4.
♦ Officers responded to the Malco Movie Theater on Highway 64 in regards to an auto burglary complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who advised his gray Ford F-250 had been broken into on the Malco parking lot between 3:45 and 6 p.m. The victim advised he noticed his front passenger side door lock to be punched by a possible screwdriver. The victim said that the suspect stole his Pioneer car stereo valued at $2,500 and a bag of miscellaneous unknown brand power tools valued at $150. The victim advised that his doors were locked at the time of the incident. Officer observed the front passenger door lock to be punched possibly with a screwdriver. Officer made contact with the manager of Malco Theater, who advised he did have video surveillance of the parking lot area where the Victims vehicle was located.
Feb. 9
♦ Officers responded to a residential burglary at Ruskin. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between Feb. 1 and Feb. 9, an unknown person or persons broke the bottom glass panel to the back door and made entry into the home. The complainant further stated that the home is vacant but she came by to make sure the heat was on due to the cold weather. A routine check of the home by the complainant verified that items had been moved around a bit but nothing that she could tell had been taken.
