Local students perform on TV for Belmont

Christmas at Belmont
Belmont University students rocked the joyous holiday music on their televised performance of “Christmas at Belmont” this year.

Two Shelby County students were among the performers in a nationally televised Christmas concert this month.

Aileen Fitzgerald of Arlington and Jeffrey Arnold of Cordova were among more than 800 Belmont University student musicians, singers and faculty and the Nashville Children’s Choir performing in “Christmas at Belmont.”

Hosted by internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, the annual production of traditional carols, classical masterworks, world music and light-hearted seasonal favorites, produced by Nashville Public Television (NPT), premiered on NPT on Dec. 19 and on PBS on Dec. 20, and had an encore Christmas Eve broadcast at 7 p.m. This is the 11th consecutive year “Christmas at Belmont” has been seen by a national audience on PBS.
