Jaime Ransopher, a Bartlett resident and a diagnostic test worker at BMG Family Physicians Group in Bartlett, had a major surprise Tuesday: She found out she won a $10,000 scholarship from WGU Tennessee.
It will cover nearly all of the cost of her master of business administration degree in healthcare management.
The scholarship was presented by Kimberly K. Estep, Ph.D., chancellor of WGU Tennessee. Gov. Bill Haslam established the nonprofit online university as part of the Drive to 55 initiative.
Ransopher is the third Tennessean to receive the Tenn-K Scholarship this year. It’s the largest award given by WGU Tennessee and covers up to 80 percent of the cost of a degree. This year, the university will award up to 10 such scholarships as part of the campaign.
