Emilio Walls commissioned as Army officer

Bartlett resident Emilio Walls received his commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during an Aug. 17 ceremony at the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Walls enlisted in the Tennessee Army National Guard in 2013 and has served with the 913th Engineering Company in Union City.

He joined the UT-Martin ROTC Battalion in 2014 and recently completed his bachelor’s degree in biology.

His first duty assignment will be at the Chemical Corps Basic Officer Leaders Course at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.

Walls is the son of April Walls.
