July 5 issue to have early deadlines

Area municipalities and The Bartlett Express have announced how their hours and operations will be affected by Independence Day.

Bartlett

Bartlett city offices, the Bartlett Recreation Center (including the Splash Pad), the Bartlett Library and the Bartlett Senior Center will be closed on July 4. Trash pick-up will be delayed one day, with Wednesday’s pick-up on Thursday and Friday’s pick-up on Saturday.

Appling Road between Appling Lake and Southern Way will close to traffic starting at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, because of the city’s fireworks display.

The BRC will close at 4 p.m. on July 3, and Singleton Community Center will close at 6 p.m. on July 3.

Arlington

Town offices (including Public Works), the library and the senior center will be closed on July 4. The Public Works Department was not immediately available Monday to answer questions about how or if town trash pickups will be affected by the holiday.

Lakeland

Lakeland City Hall and Lakeland Senior Center will be closed on July 4, and trash pickups will be delayed one day after July 4.

The Bartlett Express

Readers and advertisers for The Bartlett Express should note that early deadlines will be in place for the July 5 issue because of the national holiday that week.

Editorial deadlines (for photos, stories and calendars of events) for that issue of the paper will be at noon on Thursday, June 28. Ad deadlines will be at 1 p.m. June 28.

The office of The Bartlett Express will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.
