Universities and colleges have released information about the accomplishments of area students.
Arlington student awarded scholarships
Joshua Wolfe of Arlington has received the Midwest Achievement Award, Residence Life Leadership Award and Educational Access Program Match to attend Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo., for the 2018-2019 academic year.
He is the son of Darrence and Lottie Wolfe of Arlington and will be a 2018 graduate of Arlington High School.

Lakeland scholar’s achievements honored
Uy Nguyen of Lakeland has been named as the recipient of the Dependability honor, given by All School at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.
Bartlett students tapped for Phi Kappa Phi
Two Bartlett residents were recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Lauren Evans and Ben Jones were both initiated at Mississippi State University.
Bethel names spring academic honorees
Four Bartlett students were among the students who earned honor roll or dean’s list status for the spring 2018 semester at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tenn.
They include Kelsey Burnette and Luke Patterson, both on the honor roll; and Marina Hamer and Noah Miller, both on the dean’s list.
To qualify for the honor roll, a student must be a traditional undergraduate student who has completed 12 or more hours of academic work with an average of 3.70 or above with no grade below a “C.” To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must be a traditional undergraduate student who has completed 12 or more hours of academic work with an average of 3.5 to 3.69 with no grade below a “C.”

Bartlett student named to dean’s list at Belmont
Claire Ward of Bartlett has been named to the spring 2018 dean’s list at Belmont University in Nashville. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
UT-Martin gives awards to Shelby County students
Several Shelby County students received awards from the University of Tennessee at Martin College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences during a ceremony on April 24. They included Melody Black of Bartlett, who received the Outstanding Child and Family Studies Student Award; Samantha Porter of Bartlett, who received the Outstanding Family and Consumer Sciences Education Student Award; and Shelby Halliday of Lakeland, who was named an outstanding first semester college student in agriculture for the fall 2017 semester.
Bethel University announces spring 2018 grads
Bethel University held its spring 2018 commencement on May 5 in the school’s Rosemary and Harry Crisp II arena on the school’s main campus in McKenzie, Tenn.
Among the graduates were Erica Danyale Lark, bachelor of science, with honors; Frank B. Winston Jr., bachelor of science, with honors; and Nicholas Jermayne Dandridge, bachelor of science, with honors.
Arlington scholar earns degree in Nebraska
Jasmine Tione Cincore of Arlington was among nearly 3,200 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises May 4 and 5.
Cincore earned a bachelor of journalism degree from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
UT-Martin confers degrees on local students
Several Shelby County residents were among students who received degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin during spring commencement on May 5 in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center on the UT Martin campus.
Students receiving undergraduate degrees included Brielle Marie Goode of Arlington; and Stephen Judson Belote, Ashlyn Christina Bonner, Meredith Nicole Brown, Cynthia Gail Cromwell, Samantha M. Porter, Zachary Laine Runyon and Stephanie Candace Wray, all of Bartlett.
Students receiving graduate degrees included David Irwin Parker of Arlington.
