A teen brawl spilled out from the lobby of the Hollywood Cinema Movie Theater in Bartlett into the parking lot out front around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6. Bartlett police estimated that 30-50 juveniles were involved.
According to the BPD report, arriving officers saw several juveniles running out of the main entrance and through the front parking lot when they arrived. Officers tried to contact several of them, but none would cooperate and speak with officers.
Capt. Lockett of the theater’s security staff said several youths loitered in the lobby after the movie “Insidious” let out. They were told to leave because they were obstructing the way and preventing others from getting to their movies. Instead, they began cursing and screaming, and soon several were fighting.
Lockett said the fighting got so out of control that he used pepper spray to separate several youths and to disperse the crowd. Most left upon the arrival of police officers, and the rest were sent on their way.
The staff could not identify who started the initial incident or which individuals were involved. The responding officers weren’t able to locate any assault victims.
