Harmony Church moves to permanent home, invites public

bex-2017-12-28-harmony-wOn Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, Harmony Church of Bartlett took one more step in its short history toward becoming a thriving congregation in Bartlett. The church began in April 2012 with worship services in the Bartlett Senior Center. After nine months, the congregation moved to the Bartlett Square building on Stage Road, which became Harmony’s home for the past four years and 10 months.

On Oct. 12 this year, the congregation bought the former Crystal Springs Baptist Church property at 6740 St. Elmo Road in Bartlett. The past two and a half months have been spent remodeling the property in anticipation of it being the church’s new and permanent home. The congregation was able to hold its first service in the newly renovated structure on Dec. 17.

As a result of the help of many people within and outside the congregation, a dedication service is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2018. The church wants to express gratitude to God and to all who made this new facility possible.

Those who are without a church home or who just want to share in this church’s joy are invited to come for worship and celebration at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7.

Harmony Church of Bartlett seeks to share the love of Christ to all people, and its motto is “Ordinary people, Extraordinary God.”

Pastor Larry Turner said, “We have two core beliefs: One is our absolute faith and trust in Jesus Christ and the second is the great command Jesus gave us in John 13:34, that as Jesus has loved us, we are to love others in the same way.”

The church’s dedication service announcement notes that its members seek to live the passage from Romans 14:19: So then, “let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.” (NLT)
