Michelle Berting Brett, lauded as “a richly gifted vocalist” by JazzTimes Magazine, starred in the Nov. 18 performance of a Carpenters tribute show at the Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center (BPACC).
“We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered” celebrates the music of brother-and-sister duo Karen and Richard Carpenter, who were one of the most successful recording acts of all time. A seven-piece Nashville band directed by Harry Sharpe accompanied the singer.
Audience members heard longtime favorites like “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Rainy Days and Mondays,” “Close to You” and “Top of the World.”
