The Tennessee Department of Education released school district’s ACT scores on Tuesday, and Bartlett City Schools (BCS) earned an average composite score of 21.5, up from 20.8 last year.
Not only does this score outpace the State average of 20.1, it also places BCS ahead of the State’s goal for every district to have an average composite score of 21 by 2020, according to Bartlett City Schools’ Communications Coordinator Jason Sykes. Bartlett City Schools is one of 23 school districts out of 144 across the state to earn this distinction.
Additionally, BCS is one of only six districts in Tennessee that ranked in the top 10 for student performance across all student subgroups.
Superintendent of Education Dr. David Stephens said, “Bartlett High School has improved ACT scores every year since Bartlett City Schools inception. This year’s score of 21.5 places BCS 9th in the State for overall ACT scores. I am incredibly proud of the hard work and effort of our teachers, students, and administrators. We are proud that Bartlett High School is preparing our students to be successful in college and beyond.”
