Members of Keep Bartlett Beautiful helped to beautify the King’s Daughters & Sons nursing home in Bartlett on National Planting Day, Sept. 9. The older well-established iris bed there no longer bloomed because the underground rhizomes were too overcrowded. So, with permission, KBB members dug up each rhizome and replanted them with enough spacing to encourage vigorous growth. While supplies last, the leftover iris rhizomes will be given away along with daylily bulbs at the group’s booth at the Bartlett Festival. The festival will be Sept. 29-30 at W. J. Freeman Park, 2629 Bartlett Blvd. The nursing home is at 3568 Appling Road, Bartlett. Courtesy photo
