Saturday’s “Ready. Set. Grow!” 5K race for adults and children in Lakeland Saturday drew 52 participants in an event designed to raise awareness about Keep Tennessee Beautiful. The event began and ended at the Delta Blues Winery. On Monday, organizers were still tallying the amount raised but estimated that it will be more than $1,200. All proceeds will be donated to the University of Memphis/KTnB Foundation, going toward scholarships for students planning to study in the environmental conservation field and to community environmental education grants.
