The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man who was hit and killed early morning Friday while walking a road in Arlington.
Daniel Perkins, 28, was walking in the road at 3 a.m. in the area of Larry Anderson and Harrell when a driver struck him, the sheriff’s office said Friday afternoon in a media release.
According to the release, Perkins had gotten into an argument with the driver of a van in which he was a passenger. The driver forced Perkins out of the van, but then felt remorse and returned to try to pick him up. While the van driver, who the sheriff did not identify, was trying to talk to him about it, another driver struck Perkins. That driver did not see him in the road, the sheriff said.
Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who struck him was not charged.
