A Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested Memphis rapper Patrick Lanshaw, 33, on suspicion of drunk driving at 3 a.m. Sunday in Memphis. Lanshaw is also known as Lil Wyte.

A Bartlett police officer driving westbound on U.S. 64 near Appling Road in Memphis was the first witness to spot Lanshaw’s black Cadillac STS weaving in the travel lane before veering off the road. The off-road lapse did minor damage to the right front wheel before the driver recovered and reentered the highway.

For the sake of public safety, the officer pulled over the vehicle on U.S. 64 at Brother Boulevard in Memphis and notified Memphis Police, who refused jurisdiction. The officer then contacted the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office to take over the investigation.

According to an affadavit, Lanshaw had watery eyes and alcohol fumes on his breath. He performed poorly on a field sobriety test, and he also refused a breathalyzer and blood test.

Lanshaw was arrested, and the SCSO deputy transported him to the county jail and obtained a warrant to test his blood for intoxicants. The results of the test have not yet been released, but Lanshaw was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants/drugs and released the same day on $3,000 bond.

Lanshaw, a Frayser native, has a last-known address in Bartlett. He is a member of the rap collective Hypnotize Minds and owns the independent label Wyte Music.
