Bobby Holder hit one short of the cycle and pitcher Shane Lantiqua allowed only two hits in four innings as Bartlett blasted previously undefeated Greenville, MS 12-0 Monday.
Greenville came into the game with a perfect 9-0 record. Bartlett nearly had that many runs in an explosive third inning breaking open a 2-0 contest with eight unanswered.
Coach Phil Clark’s club took an early 2-0 lead in the first when the junior Holder went deep in the first. Holder drove in freshman Justin Hammons who doubled in his initial varsity at bat.
The Panthers left no doubt in the third. Chase Claudio and Holder bookended a walk with a pair of doubles and Jacob Elliot and Joseph Leatherwood each drove in a pair for a 10-0 cushion.
Wesley Johnson added a two run home run in the fourth as the game was called early.
“I think we got some real quality at bats from a lot of people,” Clark said.
