
Harpeth Rising sets Saturday performance
The trio Harpeth Rising will be returning to perform for the Memphis Acoustic Music ssociation at the Overton Chapel at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.
The chapel is at at 53 East Parkway South. Admission is $15 and advance tickets are available at the Bookseller of Laurelwood or online at mamamusic.org.
For the past six years, Harpeth Rising has challenged the boundaries of folk music and created a sound that is both excitingly unique and surprisingly familiar. Their virtuosic instrumentals of banjo and violin mixed with cello and foot percussion create an exciting and unique blend of folk, rock, bluegrass, classical, and roots music.
Eads gallery opens, shows local artwork
Gallery Ouroboros’ Grand Opening in Eads recently held its grand opening.
Located at 2853 N. Collierville-Arlington Road, the gallery plans to sponsor a minimum of four exhibits per year. It is currently featuring two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art by Dr. Kevin Merigian, a self-taught artist whose work has been featured in Arts in the Park, German-town Performing Arts Center, and other local galleries.
Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. by appointment only.
