BPACC offers on-stage seats for theater April 21-24, exhibit in lobby

BPACC-logoThe Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center (BPACC) has two new events that will provide an entertaining visit for guests.

Theater

BPACC presents the Bartlett Repertory Company in “Snake in the Grass” on April 21-23 at 7 p.m. and April 24 at 2:30 p.m.

BPACC’s professional theatre troupe continues this season’s murder mystery theme with Alan Ayckbourn’s classic thriller. Annabel Chester returns home to her sister after the death of their abusive father, only to be confronted by a blackmail plot, which quickly escalates out of hand with grim consequences. London’s Sunday Times calls it “A creepily, scarily, eerily enjoyable evening.”

At this local performance, the audience sits on stage and will be up close as the performance is acted out in front of them. It makes for a riveting performance as the audience gets a front row seat as the plot unfolds.

The production is sponsored by Ave Maria Home and SunTrust. See more information online.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling (901) 385-6440 or by visiting the Box Office at 3663 Appling Road; hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.

Photography

BPACC also now has the photography of local artist Paul Bryant on display in its front lobby. The display, which runs until May 10, features his travels around the world and the experiences he has encountered.

Bryant is a 1991 graduate of Memphis State University, where he earned a B.A. in Spanish. He now teaches at St. Benedict at Auburndale.

His interest in photography came at an early age from his mother’s love of photography and has had a profound influence on him and his work.

Paul’s goal with this exhibit is to assist in helping those in need, and he has made a copy of the photos available for no charge; however, there is a limit of five prints per photo. Paul does suggest a donation be made for the photos.

His exhibit can be seen at BPACC, located at 3663 Appling Road in Bartlett. The facility’s hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and during all performances and events.
