Animal shelter offers reduced costs April 9
This Saturday is the Bartlett Animal Shelter’s annual Rabies and Microchip Drive, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Prices are $16 for spayed/neutered pets or $26 for unaltered pets. Microchips are $15.
Adoptions will be reduced to just $47.50.
The event includes free food from Ty’s Smokehouse BBQ, advice from a behavioral health trainer, and critter treats from Heavenly Hounds. Ditch and Jake from Rock 103 will broadcast live.
The shelter is at 5220 Shelter Run Lane, Bartlett.
Shred personal papers on April 9
The Bartlett Police Department reminds all not to forget “Shred It” on Saturday. From 9 a.m. until noon, you can shred personal documents at First Citizens National Bank. FYI: It’s not for business use.
Bartlett History Weekend to open April 16-17
In honor of Bartlett’s 150th anniversary, the Bartlett Historical Society will present History Weekend, “Bartlett Memories,” at 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 16 and 2-5 p.m. April 17. Beginning at the Bartlett Museum, 2969 Court St., there will be the walking tours of historic homes and historic churches, a vintage car display, the Bartlett Stagecoach on display and carriage rides.
At Bartlett High School, there will be history displays of organizations and people portraying historical figures. In the auditorium on Saturday, visitors can enjoy high school jazz bands. On Sunday at 2 p.m. the auditorium will offer an original play “Happy Birthday Bartlett,” performed by Altruria second grade classes and written by teacher Ashley Spriggs.
