MLGW pledges ‘no cut-offs’ in icy weather
Because of the low temperatures that were expected to worsen overnight, MLGW said Tuesday they will not be disconnecting residential services.
According to company policy, when the windchill is lower than 33 degrees for four or more hours in a 24 hour period, service will not be disconnected from residential homes for failure to pay, failure to provide proper identification, or failure to meet service agreement requirements.
The company said they use the National Weather Service as their official source for conditions.
Bartlett artist is displaying photography at BPACC
The photographic artwork of local artist Jon Woodhams will be on display in the lobby of the Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center (BPACC) through Feb. 16.
BPACC is at 3663 Appling Road and is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and during all performances and events.
Woodhams serves on the Bartlett Arts Council and is active within the arts scene locally. When not shooting pictures, baking bread, roasting coffee, or playing the piano, he is a book editor for a small New York publishing house.
“Nostalgia” is a key word Woodham uses in explaining his work.
“As a collector and lover of antiques, I am drawn to objects from the past,” Woodhams said. “There is something about character, history, and hidden stories of old things that I find inspiring and irresistible. So it is not surprising that objects like these (vintage bottles, cars, cameras, telephones, buildings, places, even people) are among my favorite photographic subjects.”
