Panther Pom forming team for grades 4, 5
Panther Pom All Star signups are now open for Bartlett students in grades 4 and 5.
Coach Lynda Boswell, a former University of Memphis Pom Girl and Universal Dance Association (UDA) instructor, will lead. The team is being formed so younger girls can prepare for the next level in pom.
Boswell is the coach for Bon Lin, Bartlett Academy and Bartlett High School dance teams.
The team will perform for the Redbirds, Memphis Grizzlies, Riverkings, Bartlett Madness, festivals and a high school game.

Poetry Society welcomes public
The Poetry Society of Tennessee is inviting the public to visit. Meetings are September through May (except for October). Those who want to be members can pay $25 as adults or $10 for students. Attending is free.
Meetings are at the Memphis Public Library, 5094 Poplar Ave., on the first Saturday of each month, 1:15-4 p.m.
Participants learn the techniques of poetry writing, readings, and critiquing while listening to prize-winning poets.

Shelby Summit set for Jan. 7
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Brian Kelsey (R-Germantown) has announced a “Safer Shelby Summit” to be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Cecil Humphreys School of Law in Memphis.
There will be a roundtable discussion of possible criminal justice reforms to be considered by the Tennessee General Assembly in the 2016 legislative session, which is set to begin next Tuesday.
