Bartlett Police Reports for Dec. 28, 2015 – Jan. 3, 2016

Dec. 28


Thigpen Drive (property damage)

An anonymous person reported a bent stop sign ($100) on Dec. 28 at the intersection of Thigpen Drive and Charles Bryan Road. The responding officer visited the site, verified the damage and notified Bartlett Public Works.

North Lake Oaks Drive (attempted theft)

Someone tried to steal an 18-foot tandem-axle trailer parked in a driveway on North Lake Oaks Drive, a resident reported on Dec. 28. The attempt happened between 3 p.m. Dec. 27 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 28.

Dovefield Lane (vandalism)

An unknown suspect shattered the rear passenger window of a vehicle parked in a Dovefield Lane driveway, the vehicle owner reported on Dec. 28.

She said the damaged happened between 6 p.m. Dec. 27 and 12:30 p.m. Dec. 28. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.


Dec. 29


U.S. 64 (theft)

Someone stole about $1,400 worth of tires and rims from Serra Chevrolet (7850 U.S. 64), an employee reported on Dec. 29.

The vehicle was a white 2011 Chevrolet Suburban parked at the front of the lot, facing U.S. 64. The tires stolen were the two passenger-side tires, Bridgestone Dueler H/L with polished aluminum rims, size P275/55/R20.

The complainant found the Suburban sitting on bricks on the passenger side upon arrival at the dealership around 7 a.m.

Forrest Oasis Lane (vandalism)

The owner of a home still under construction on Forrest Oasis found vandalism totalling about $3,000 on Dec. 29. She said it occurred between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Damages included blue spray-painted graffiti throughout the property, a broken window in the living room downstairs, and a broken window and drywall damage of multiple holes and gouges in the room above the garage.

The responding officer took pictures of the damages.


Dec. 30


Abigail Bluffs Drive (vandalism follow-up)

An Abigail Bluffs resident reported on Dec. 30 finding some evidence and damages possibly related to the previous day’s Forrest Oasis vandalism case.

The Abigail Bluffs resident said he believes the spray paint can used on Forrest Oasis was on a table saw on his backyard patio. The home’s rear exterior door was forced open, splitting the doorjamb and damaging the door. A single window near the door was also broken.

A single black Nike glove of unknown origin was on the floor inside the home, possibly left by the intruder. Damages were estimated at $600.

He said the damages could have occurred between 5 p.m. Dec. 28 and 2 p.m. Dec. 30. The responding officer took crime scene photos and placed the recovered items into evidence for processing.


Jan. 1


Luther Road (vandalism)

A woman reported car and home vandalism on Jan. 1. Her mother was at the woman’s home and heard windows smash around 1:45 a.m., but she didn’t see anyone.

The complainaint later found three of her home’s windows on the lower level were broken ($450), and her boyfriend’s car had a broken driver’s side window and a windshield cracked in multiple places.

Flowering Tree Drive (vandalism)

Someone shattered the driver’s side window of a truck parked on Flowering Tree Drive in front of the owner’s residence.

The victim said the $275 in damages to his Ford F-100 must have happened between noon Dec. 31 and 9 a.m. Jan. 1. An officer took crime scene photos for evidence.


Jan. 3


Magnolia Woods Drive (theft)

A man lost more than $400 when his debit card went missing, he reported on Jan. 3. The victim noticed the debit card linked to his Regions Bank account was missing around 4 p.m. Jan. 3. He last remembered having it at 2:30 p.m. that same day.

By the time he contacted his bank, someone had made a $400 withdrawal at a New Macon ATM in Memphis and $31.01 from an unknown Circle K.
