Methodist North Hospital opened the doors of its newly expanded lobby on Nov. 11.
“We are so proud of our new lobby at Methodist North,” said Methodist North CEO, Gyasi Chisley. “The new lobby, like our other campus updates, is allowing us more space to accommodate the countless patients and families who come through our doors each year.”
The grand opening is the culmination of a $1.8 million construction project that began in January.
The new lobby boasts 4,300 square feet containing a new information and admissions desk, new upgraded bathrooms, a gift shop and administrative offices. The outdoor area has also been updated with sustainable green space and a new pick-up and drop-off area to improve entryway traffic.
The expansion is part of Methodist North Hospital’s plans to update and expand the entire campus. Past projects included renovating four floors of patient rooms and nurses’ stations, emergency department expansion and a radiology department upgrade to 100-percent digital technology.
The grand opening featured a short program by Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare leaders and Raleigh-Frayser community members, as well as a consecration, ribbon cutting, unveiling of art, a reception and public tours.
Methodist North nurses also unveiled and present a Methodist North Associate Commitment Statement to be displayed in the new lobby. The new lobby mural was painted by the Lynn Twins, Jerry and Terry Lynn.
The hospital is at 3960 New Covington Pike, Memphis.
