Three fire department officials were promoted, and several citizens were appointed to a variety of boards and commissions in an abbreviated Bartlett Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday night.
Howard McNatt was promoted by Chief Terry Wiggins from Deputy Fire Marshal to Fire Marshal, replacing the retired David Bradshaw. That promotion led to a domino effect as Johnny Johnson replaced McNatt as Deputy Fire Marshal and Blake Grissom promoted from driver to Fire Lieutenant.
Aldermen also, in an uncontested consent agenda, approved the purchase of 18 face masks and six spare bottles from NAFECO at a cost of $27,994.
Also approved were funds for 20 sewer easement appraisals at a cost of $1,000 per appraisal and the authorization to sell surplus property confiscated by the Bartlett Police Department.
West Tennessee Family Solutions was approved for a 5K race on March 23 and a last-minute expenditure of $18,393 was approved to repair a water pump on Altruria Road.
