
Brittany LeeAnn Hendrix and William Tanner Bishop of Forest, Virginia, were married September 19, 2015, at 3:30 p.m., at Summerall Chapel in Charleston, South Carolina. Reverend Larry House of Ocran United Methodist Church, Sutherland, Virginia, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. Kevin Hendrix and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Loya of Chester, Virginia. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ervin and the late Mr. James Hendrix of Bartlett, Tennessee, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Glen Neville of DeWitt, Virginia. She is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is currently employed as a Service Supervisor with Perdue Farms in Pittsylvania and Halifax counties, Virginia.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Bishop III of Church Road. He is the grandson of Mrs. Etta Love Bishop and the late Mr. William E. Bishop II of Dinwiddie and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Pryor Jones of Sutherland, Virginia. He is a graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in Charleston, and is currently employed as a Service Manager with Cintas Corporation in Bedford, Virginia.
The bride made her entrance to “Ode to Joy,” escorted by her father. She wore a floor-length A-line trumpet gown of ivory lace over satin featuring embellished beading over the lace with an empire waist, cap sleeves and a chapel train complemented by a two-tier veil with a beaded stitched edge, a cherished gift from her “MeMom.” She carried an elegant bridal bouquet of classic burgundy roses, wine astilbe, white star of Bethlehem, hydrangea and ivory roses, with accents of sword fern and salal tips, hand-tied and wrapped in ivory bridal satin adorned with pearl embellishments.
The Maid of Honor was Hannah Moody, college roommate, best friend of the bride and childhood friend of the groom. Bridesmaids were Ann Cabell Bishop, sister of the groom; Kaitlyn Lewis, cousin of the bride; Meghan MacGhee and Caroline Conley, college friends of the bride; and Kendall Creath, college friend of the bride and childhood friend of the groom. The Best Man was Billy Bishop, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Ashton Bishop, brother of the groom; Tyler Hendrix, brother of the bride; Travis Meadows, childhood friend of the groom; Carson Cimino and Andrew Mager college friends of the groom. The Flower Girl was Grace Perkinson, and Ring Bearer was Nolan Perkinson, precious children of the bride’s brother and “sister,” Nicholas and Megan Perkinson.
The Mistress of Ceremonies was Mrs. Leslie Babb. Organist was Mrs. Nancy Lefter.A bridesmaid luncheon was held at Blossom in Charleston given by bride and groom’s grandmothers, while the groomsmen golfed in Summerville. The Rehearsal Dinner was held at the Holliday Alumni Center in Charleston given by the groom’s parents; the groom’s cake baked with love by Mrs. Ashley Brooke Perkinson.
The Wedding Reception was held at Legend Oaks Golf and Tennis Club, Summerville, South Carolina, given by the bride’s parents; the wedding cake baked with love by Mrs. Carla Campbell. The couple was blessed with family and friends present and/or in heart. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to Saint Lucia and now resides in Forest, Virginia.
