The Bartlett city board approved a long list of bids for large equipment, vehicles, police gear and services at the Oct. 13 business meeting.
Approved bids
- Two knuckleboom trucks at $263,889.42 each. This amount was the low bid from Tag Truck Center.
- A vacuum leaf collector at $44,245. The sole bid was from ODB Municipal Products.
- A one extendable-arm compact excavator for $62,995. This was the low bid from Williams Equipment & Supply.
- Citywide pest control services at a cost of $13,860 annually. The low bid was from NU ERA.
- Semi-annual city informational brochures at a cost of $990 per thousand copies, plus $14,990.92 in estimated postage.
- Eight Ford Explorers at a total cost of $217,778. The sole bid was from Auto Nation Ford Memphis. Three SUVs will be purchased from the Federal Drug Fund for $80,739.00, and five SUVs will be purchased from the Capital Fund Account for $137,039.
- Eight in-car video cameras for new police vehicles at a total cost of $38,560. The bid was awarded to Watchguard, a sole-source provider.
- Eight radar units for new police vehicles at a total cost of $14,760 from Applied Concepts Inc. This purchase will be from a state bid contract.
- Contract for the architectural design for restroom improvements or replacements at Bartlett Soccer Park, Dixon Brewer Park and Deermont Park at a cost of $35,000. The bid was awarded to Ross Witt, PLLC.
- Contract for the right-of-way appraisal review for the Old Brownsville Road widening project at a cost of up to $10,000. The contract was awarded to Douglas Hall. As required by the Tennessee Department of Transportation, this is the first step in the right-of-way acquisition process for 40-plus properties. Hall will look at the plan sets and divide the properties into specific type appraisals. Once appraisals are complete, there will be a full appraisal request for funding.
- Contract for the engineering design of a Yale Road water tower at a cost of $44,300. The contract was awarded to Fisher Arnold. The tower will serve the lower pressure plane on the west side of Bartlett. This tank will improve storage in the older part of town and provide redundancy when maintenance must be performed on the North Hampton site.
